Habitat Technician - Part Time/Seasonal

We are looking for motivated and dependable team members to join us as part time or seasonal Habitat Technicians with a possibility to convert to a full-time position based on availability. Some background in natural resources or forestry management is preferred, but not required, and we will provide all necessary training.

Responsibilities Include:

  • ‍Work with the team to develop custom solutions and treatment options for services such as wildlife habitat establishment, forest stand improvement, pollinator plots establishment, land clearing, trails establishment, and others.  

  • Use a variety of techniques including chemical and mechanical methods to manage undesirable vegetation and non-native invasive species.

  • Remove debris or vegetation from work sites

  • Adhere to safety procedures including conforming to all OSHA standards and properly using personal protective equipment (PPE)

  • Operate and maintain equipment such as chainsaws, 4-wheelers, seed spreaders, sprayers, etc

  • Drive trucks or other vehicles to or at work sites, with or without trailers to haul supplies and tools

  • Operate heavy equipment or vehicles with adjustable attachments to clear sites, or move materials

  • Plant trees, shrubs and native plants as needed to achieve owner objectives.

  • Participate in company meetings, trainings and state licensure programs

  • Willing to travel

  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • ‍ High school diploma or equivalent

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Ability to lift or move equipment weighing up to 75 lbs.

  • Ability to work outdoors 8+ hours per day in all weather conditions in demanding terrain (hills, dense vegetation, etc.)

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with customers and explain complex tasks in an easy-to-understand manner.
